Mums need more nutrition, just when it becomes hardest to eat well.

What Mums Eat™ is a platform dedicated to supporting mothers through food. Starting with a weekly meal delivery, guidance and recipes from nutritionists, support from midwives and plans for a nationwide directory of pre and postnatal experts.

The Observation

In the early months and often years of motherhood, eating usually happens last.

Meals are interrupted, eaten standing up, cold or are made up of scraps. Not because mothers don’t value nourishment, but because time and attention are constantly pulled elsewhere.

These everyday realities are widely shared but rarely acknowledged.

The Work

What Mums Eat began as a photographic project documenting how mothers actually eat.

The project is now developing into a practical response, beginning with nourishing meals designed around the realities of early motherhood, alongside accessible guidance and support.

The aim is simple: to make it easier for mothers to care for themselves while caring for everyone else.

  • "What Mums Eat is honestly a lifesaver for me! As a mum to twins I know how easy it is to put yourself last and forget to eat properly while you are caring for everyone else. Having nourishing, delicious food arrive at my door took such a weight off my shoulders. The food was comforting, generous and made with real care. It felt like someone was looking after me for a change. I wish I had found this when my girls were newborns as those early months were especially hard. I cannot recommend this enough to any mum who is stretched thin and needs proper food without the stress of thinking about it."

  • 'Getting a delivery of yummy food, as a mum of 2 when trying to manage life and all the chaos parenting brings, was bloody dreamy. The ease of being able to bung it in the oven, no dispensing, no faff, no extra washing up and no awful plastic take away tuppaware was glorious. Plus, it was nourishing, tasty food too 10/10’
