What Mums Eat is beginning with a small pilot exploring how nourishing meals can better support mothers in early motherhood.

Why a pilot?

While the need for maternal nourishment is widely recognised, there are few practical services designed around the realities of caring for a newborn. The pilot allows us to test ideas in a real-world setting and learn directly from mothers’ experiences.

What we hope to learn

The pilot will help us understand:

• what kinds of meals mothers actually find most helpful
• how food can fit into the rhythm of early motherhood
• what additional guidance or support mothers want alongside meals

These insights will shape the future development of the platform.

What we’re exploring

The pilot will explore a simple question:

Can access to thoughtfully prepared, nourishing meals make it easier for mothers to care for themselves while caring for a baby?

Working with chefs, midwives and nutrition advisors, we are developing meals designed to be:

• nourishing and satisfying
• easy to eat during busy or interrupted days
• supportive of postpartum recovery

The pilot is supported by chefs, midwives and nutrition experts who share a belief that mothers deserve better practical support during early motherhood.
